WebMar 5, 2024 · Dark fluid that doesn't smell burnt may just be another hydraulic oil type. some are very dark. Best way is change filter and as much fluid as you can in the tank. Once you refill tank, disconnect the return hose for that function of the cylinder (s) you want to flush back at the control valve. WebFeb 9, 2010 · With all of the fluid drained out, block the front wheels & get the rear wheels up at least a foot. (you'll see why soon enough) Remove the 4 bolts holding the PTO shaft in & pull it to the rear & out of the tractor. Loosen all of the bolts. Remove all but the 4 corner bolts. Then, carefully remove them.

It's virtually impossible to get all the moisture out of the system with one flush. Usually use an inexpensive hyd oil to flush it a couple of times, then put the good stuff in.
